Diamond D @ A3C 2010 ATL

The A3C this year was definitly ann event to be remembered. This particular clip is from the 45 battle Evil Dee vs Diamond D vs Rhettmatic vs Apple Jac. Diamond D smashed everything when he broke out the doubles. The energy in the whole building was nostalgic.

50 Tyson Has Autism - What's Your Excuse?

I knew from the first time I heard 50 Tyson say, "this is a sing I made up,” I knew that there was something a bit off about him.  Because I knew something wasn't quite right, I could not make fun of him in the same way that I make fun of most wack rappers.

In the past I have worked in the education system, but more specifically with autistic children.  When I found out 50 Tyson was autistic, I was amazed, because the children I used to work with could have NEVER made up songs and put them on YouTube.  They were extremely low functioning and lucky to be able to recognize shapes.  There are high functioning people with Autism that lead regular lives with minimal assistance but how many have become famous for rapping - 1 - 50 Tyson.

People found his music entertaining enough to share it with others and his videos have reached more than 6 million views on YouTube alone.  He has even made it to national TV, with one of his videos appearing on Tosh.0, where mainstream rappers like Fabulous and Bizzy Bone have also appeared.

The Problem:  People are really trying to battle 50 Tyson. WTF!!  He has autism.  Let that man be.  The following video is of a person (I can't even call him an artist, rapper or anything) is battling 50 Tyson.  His name is "Ex Con Attempted Murder."  WTF!  This man is by far worse than 50 Tyson.

The Big Problem: Rap music (I'm not going to even say Hip Hop) is regressing.  It seems to have developed Alzheimers.  The lyrical content and subject matter have regressed to a point where people with special needs are able to shine in entertainment.  Could it also be that the audience is regressing?  YES!  Watch this video to see what Wocka Flocka had to say to our children about school.  Go check out the movie Idiocracy to see where decedents will be in 500 years if we don't make changes.

SILENCE THE MEDIA by: Just Sun Directed by Rahiem Shabazz

I been tryin to tell the world "My team goes in!" This is another dope video directed by Rahiem Shabazz. The artis Just Sun took a unique approach of portraying a scenario many urban males have delt with. In my oppinion this video is a well rounde Hip Hop experiance.

Conservatives Rhyme?

Take a look at the new face of Rap, The Young Cons. Please note that I did not say Hip Hop. While most mainstream Hip Hop/Rap gets attention for shiny rims, beef, drugs, and hoes; these Ivy League guys are getting national broadcast and press coverage for their political views and social opinions. The Young Cons are obviously short on talent, but it doesn't matter to the media because they care more about the message. What a concept!

I wish BET could recognize this notion and place Hip Hop artists with a message, who are actually talented in the forefront. I don't know what it is that makes people want to perpetuate human flaws and front them off as success, but Viacom has these generations in a trance.

I am not blaming Viacom, but each generation learns from what they see and hear.

There are plenty of enlightening Hip Hop artists with hot beats, extensive national fan bases and world wide followings, but Viacom chooses to promote buffoonery.

Mickey Factz Speaks On Joe Budden Punched In The Eye

Raekwon Holds his Position

It's funny that 2 days after Joe Budden gets punched in the face by one of Raekwon's Entourage MTV decides to post this video. I think it's dope that Rae dose not want this thing to escalate. If this was really a Wu-Tang beef I don't think it could have even went this far.

Jay Calls Game a Groupie

“We’re all flawed human beings,” Jay told Westwood. “All a person can do is apologize…Everyone should be allowed to make mistakes, it happens. That [BET gossip] is the silliest rumor I ever heard…I was really sitting back and watching all these suckers comment ’cause you don’t comment on rumors…That’s not even my style. If I got a problem with Chris Brown, I got a problem with Chris Brown. I haven’t said anything live or behind the scenes. I don’t agree with what he did, that’s it. But as far as not letting him perform at the BET Awards, come on, that’s stupid, that’s a sucker move…I didn’t do it and I wouldn’t do it, that’s not how I deal with my problems, through using BET or record companies…I like the game, the game is changing all the time, I’ve been dominating the game. Now tell me exactly what I said, tell me exactly what I said. I said, ‘I’m not talking about…’ is that a diss? I’m not talking about you. ‘Oh you hurt my feelings…’ Tell groupie to get over it. If that’s a diss, wear that. Tell groupie to get over it.” (Tim Westwood TV)

Big City Philadelphia Strikes Again

A couple months ago he killed us with the How to Rob A Hipster song that did big numbers on the blogs and earned the Philadelphia native a front page spot on Philly.com. But it doesn't stop there; Big City is just getting started in my eyes after hearing this new jab of words and comedic video clip.

New Jay Z

Jay Did IT!!! You might be a fan of his, but I'm not one of them. Jay Z is the last person I expected to make a song taking a real solid stand against anything. Not known for ruffling feathers( besides his little thing with Nas), Jay speaks out against the hip fad of rappers using Antares Autotune on there little sing-song hits that have been bombarding us for over a year now. Then again with NoID on the track how could you not spit real live rap sh!t.

From the culture emerges many faces of Hip Hop. Dubbed TheNewFaceOfSound broadcasting live to the Universe from the city of Atlanta is Flint, Michigan's Ahz. The single "Intergalactic" is currently being circulated to Club DJ's and club goers all over the US and across the pond via a free promotional Maxi-Single CD entitled "Meet Ahz!". This song is a change of pace compared to his earlier works, but to true Ahz followers it is to be expected.
